A long but only 6 m deep building fills up the existing open space in the street. A covered 4,6 m high open area gives access to the new youth relief centre, the existing playground and the bicycle repair shop in an outdoor inner area behind the volume.
Inside this new relief center there are several rooms to welcome the youngsters according to their ages, next to a meeting room for the local residents, a classroom and the youth center’s offices.
The outer walls of the center consist of a carrying concrete frame, cast on the spot, interspersed with glass panes and moveable wooden panels. The existing shed in the inner area is renovated and becomes a bike repair shop. This new shop gives direct access to the existing neighbourhood playground.
